U will need a tape to prevent the gears from falling off when the servo is opened. This is not needed if you intend to remove the pot and use the space for another circuitry. Also a Phillips screw driver and a blade

Open the rear and this is what the servo will look like

Remove them and remember the sequence to reassemble. The Hitec servo had a number in each gear. So fixing was easier

To take out the pot u need to remove the nut indicated by the nose plier. If this is removed the pot can be removed from the other side of the servo. This has to be done only if you want to remove the pot. Else just take out the PCB and cut the terminals to the pot ands the motor.. Throw the PCB unless you want to use the IC in it as a motor driver

For full rotation remove the stop tab on the inner side of the gear attached to the servo horn. Use a blade

Solder two wires to the motor leads and reassemble the servo. Job done!!!
